Digital Product Passport — EU ESPR 2024/1781
Manufacturers across textiles, electronics, tyres, detergents, furniture, and chemicals — each sector has its own delegated act with a separate compliance date.
Each product must carry a scannable QR code linking to a Digital Product Passport with sustainability data: materials composition, carbon footprint, repairability, and recycling instructions. EU digital registry launches July 2026. First mandatory sectors: batteries (Feb 2027), textiles (mid-2027). Electronics and tyres from 2028.
One permanent QR code per product SKU. Update the DPP destination as registry platforms and requirements evolve — without reprinting labels or packaging. Audit trail provides compliance evidence for every destination change across the product's regulated life.
