Who it affects

Food manufacturers, processors, packers, and importers handling foods on the FDA Traceability List — including fresh produce, shell eggs, nut butters, and seafood.

What it requires

Requires traceability recordkeeping (Key Data Elements at Critical Tracking Events) for foods on the FDA Traceability List. QR codes encoding the Traceability Lot Code are recommended on two sides of each package. Records must be providable to the FDA in electronic, sortable format within 24 hours of request.
