California Proposition 65 — Chemical Warnings
Businesses selling products containing listed chemicals to California consumers — covering consumer goods, industrial products, food, and supplements.
Requires a 'clear and reasonable' warning before knowingly exposing consumers to listed chemicals. QR codes are an accepted mechanism for delivering detailed warning information when label space is limited. From January 2025, short-form warnings must name at least one listed chemical. Warning content must be kept current as the chemical list is updated.
